Bill H.B. 440
This bill would amend the Workers’ Compensation Act so that it would authorize insurers and the State Workers’ Insurance Fund, to provide workers’ compensation insurance on a voluntary basis to sole proprietors, partners of a partnership or members of a limited liability company.
The bill would also repeal provisions on logging such that the fund is no longer authorized to provide to sole proprietors or partners engaged in logging or logging- related businesses coverage equivalent to that which the fund provides to employers which insure their liability.
