Bill S.B. 1986
This bill would create the employee misclassification advisory taskforce to study and make recommendations regarding issues relative to employee misclassification, which would, among other things, share information and coordinate investigative, detection and enforcement efforts regarding those construction employers who intentionally fail to properly classify individuals as employees for the purpose of affecting procedures and payments relating to unemployment tax or workers’ compensation premiums.
The bill also would authorize the agencies already required to share information and coordinate efforts to enter into contracts and interagency agreements and promulgate such rules as may be necessary.
