The Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development requested comments on establishing a uniform definition of “independent contractor” for purposes of state Unemployment Insurance, Workers’ Compensation, Occupational Safety and Health, and Wage and Hour programs.
The Coalition submitted comments in response to this request urging for the adoption of a uniform “common-law” test to define “independent contractor” for purposes of the state programs.
